How to choose the right AI tool for your work
There are thousands of AI tools, and most of them do roughly the same few things. This checklist helps you pick one that fits.
1. Start with the task, not the tool
Write down the specific job you want done, such as "turn meeting notes into a summary" or "create social images quickly". A clear task makes it much easier to compare options.
2. Check the price model
Look at whether the tool is free, freemium, paid, or trial-based. For freemium tools, find out what the free plan limits, because that is often where the real cost shows up.
3. Test with your own work
Run a real example from your daily work through the tool. Demo videos always look good; your own content shows whether it holds up.
4. Review privacy and data handling
Before you paste anything sensitive, read how the provider handles your data. If you work with client or company information, check your organization's rules first.
5. Plan to verify the output
AI tools can be wrong or confidently misleading. Treat results as a first draft and check facts, numbers, and code before you rely on them.

- I understand what is free and what is paid
- I tested it on real work
- I checked the privacy policy
- I have a way to verify the results
